Xenoblade Chronicles X Finally Gets The Switch Port It Deserves
Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Has Some Really Busted Spawns
Another annual Call of Duty is out in the wild, and fans have quickly found something to complain about in multiplayer: respawn issues. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players are running into all sorts of problems, from apparent spawn camping to getting put into matches and immediately killed before they even have time to choose a loadout.
As pointed out by PC Gamer, the Black Ops 6 subreddit has been filling up with feedback about the multiplayer map spawns since the game debuted on October 25. “Spawns are broken, or the maps are poorly designed,” reads one thread. “I never complain about spawns in any COD, but these are insane and ruin the game,” reads another.
For some players, it’s certain points on specific maps that are the issue. For others, it’s an apparent glitch that immediately spawns players into death traps the second they try to join a new match that’s already in progress “I respawn directly into a gunfight or right next to the enemy,” wrote one player. “Happens to other people too. Saw a poor Weaver player pop right into existence next to me and 4 teammates.”
Spawn points have always been a breeding ground for frustration in Call of Duty games. They were an issue in last year’s Modern Warfare III at launch, with one of the maps removed entirely for a brief period due to the issues, while even some Black Ops 6 players were complaining about renewed spawn issues in the latest game as early as the summer beta. But players spawning directly into matches before even getting to pick their loadouts appears to be a new glitch.
“We are investigating an issue where players automatically spawn in-game rather than spectating when joining in-progress,” Activision announced over the weekend with a link to its ongoing roundup of known issues in the game. Some players say the current bug goes so far as to load them into a match and get killed before they’re even able to start moving around.
Spawn point philosophy has always been hotly debated within the Call of Duty community. Some fans are recirculating a past blog post from Treyarch about how a “bad spawn” is defined to highlight the frustration some players are currently encountering in Black Ops 6. “Now you just receive a death before you’re out of the spawn menu lol,” joked one player in response. Laughing aside, the latest Call of Duty seems to be struggling more than usual with bad spawn point management at launch. Hopefully, it gets sorted out in the coming days.
