Assassin's Creed Shadows Adds Base Building To The Big RPG
Astro Bot's Free DLC Is Coming This Fall
During today’s State of Play, Sony confirmed that Astro Bot’s previously announced free DLC will be arriving later this fall. The DLC will add new bots, including characters from Helldivers and Stellar Blade, as well as new levels.
Released earlier this month exclusively on PS5, Astro Bot is one of 2024's best games and one of the main reasons to own a PS5. The platformer stars the adorable and heroic Astro Bot as he saves hundreds of other robots by completing various levels, some inspired by beloved PlayStation games. Astro Bot also contains over 100 “Cameo Bots,” robots based on PlayStation characters like Aloy from Horizon and Kratos from God of War. And 10 more of these special bots are being added in the newly teased free DLC.
Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming DLC, which was teased as just a taste of what’s to come in this update.
The new update will be out in the fall and add 10 new characters to save. In the trailer, we saw the main character from Stellar Blade as well as soldiers from Helldivers 2. Previously, players had spotted characters like Rayman and games like Assassin’s Creed in Astro Bot’s credits, so I expect those cameo bots will be included in this upcoming DLC as well.
The DLC will also add five new levels focused on speedrunning. These look to be challenging and more like the special levels found in the main game.
Meanwhile, I’m just sitting here hoping that Astro Bot becomes a mega-hit for Sony and we get even more DLC adding more levels and characters. And hopefully a big sequel, too, something that the game seemingly teased (or promised) in its trophies.
